Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water 105-115°F
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Your favorite toppings

Instructions

  • Activate the yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm water and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Combine dry ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together bread flour, salt and sugar.
  • Add wet ingredients: Pour the yeast mixture and olive oil into the dry ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Knead the dough: Knead for 8-10 minutes (by hand or using a stand mixer) until smooth and elastic.
  • First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let it rise for 30-45 minutes.
  • Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C) with a baking sheet or pizza stone inside.
  • Shape the Dough: Punch down the dough and divide it in half. Roll out each portion of dough into a thin circle or rectangle.
  • Assemble the Pizza: Transfer the dough to parchment paper. Spread tomato sauce evenly over the dough and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese and desired toppings.
  • Bake: Transfer the pizza to the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone in the oven. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
  • Cool and Serve: Let the pizza cool slightly before slicing and serving.
