  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 4 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 cup 1 stick Cold Unsalted Butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup Cold Buttermilk
  • 1 tablespoon Honey Optional

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 450°F (232°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Gently stir in buttermilk and honey (if using) until just combined.
  • Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
  • Pat the dough into a ¾-inch thick rectangle. Fold the dough in thirds, like a letter. Repeat this folding process 3-4 times to create layers.
  • Cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter or knife.
  • Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly before serving.
